The men & women Horses of Iron have exemplified the true spirit of a HERO'S HEART.

We 1st met Edgar 3 years ago when he shared his dream of creating sensory-friendly haircut opportunities for the Autistic community in our area. He believes that "everyone deserves a haircut" and his kindness and inclusion efforts have positively impacted our community tremendously. By providing these services Edgar & The Gentlemen's Barbershop by Bissuett has given families and Autistic individuals equal opportunities to thrive and feel confident! The Gentlemen's Barbershop by Bissuett is now proudly serving our community by providing sensory-friendly haircuts year-round at affordable prices! What to expect when getting a sensory-friendly haircut at The Gentlemen's Barbershop by Bissuett: Edgar and his team show compassion and patience allowing each guest personalized attention. The shop also has a stylist that provides haircuts for girls! They know getting a haircut can be difficult on the senses. The lights are dim, the noise is minimal, and breaks are taken when needed. They cater to each individual's needs. They offer communication boards and fidget toys as needed as well.

We were honored to nominate, and award Mr.Steve Cuevas owner of, SC Auto Detail, with the very first Hero Heart award. Steve has hosted the annual Show & Shine for Autism car show for the last 6 years in honor of his son Noah. The tradition has grown and continued to be an amazing experience for our community to come together in support of all Autistic people, families, and allies. Events like the Show & Shine give us an opportunity to bridge the gap between Autism Awareness & Autism Acceptance.
